Aaron Schuman

Aaron Schuman è un fotografo, scrittore, educatore e curatore americano che vive nel Regno Unito. Le sue opere fotografiche sono esposte e pubblicate a livello internazionale e fanno parte di collezioni pubbliche e private. Schuman è autore di diverse monografie – tra cui Sonata (MACK, 2022), Slant (MACK, 2019) e Folk (NB Books, 2016) – regolarmente citate nelle liste e nelle recensioni annuali dei migliori libri fotografici dell’anno apparse, tra gli altri, su The Guardian, TIME, Internazionale, American Suburb X, Photoeye, Photobookstore Magazine e Deadbeat Club Press. Oltre al suo lavoro fotografico, Schuman ha contribuito con testi e immagini a molti libri tra cui OK: No Response (2022), Photo No-Nos: Meditations on What Not to Shoot (2021), Aperture Conversations: 1985 to the Present (2018), Another Kind of Life: Photography on the Margins (2018), Alec Soth: Gathered Leaves (2015) e The Photographer’s Playbook (2014); inoltre collabora regolarmente con riviste come Aperture, Foam, Frieze, TIME, Hotshoe, Magnum Online, The British Journal of Photography. Schuman ha fondato e diretto SeeSaw Magazine (2004-2014) ed è professore associato e responsabile del programma MA Photography presso la University of the West of England (UWE Bristol).
