Schools

Babel is curating a program for schools in Ticino, to invite the children to confront themselves with themes such as writing and translating, but also the exchange of cultures and emigration. In 2008 the schools will be invited to visit the exhibition by Evans and Frey with a free, guided tour and free travel provided by FFS. The children of the high school in Bellinzona are further invited to participate in a literary translation competition.
In collaboration with the Department of education of the Canton Ticino, the department of youth activities of the City of Bellinzona, the Villa dei Cedri, FFS and Railway, Edizioni Casagrande and Alsi.



Biblioteca di Babel

In collaboration with Babel, the cantonal Library of Bellinzona is dedicating a space to literary translation, a specialized fund where one can find texts and journals fundamentally linked to the world of translation.

Bookshop, info point and restaurant, the gazebo will be situated next to the Teatro Sociale, and the restaurant Zoccolino, situated on the piazza del Teatro, will be the main points of meeting of the festival. The collective Niska will run the bar.
